Looking for a way to turn Portland into a giant game board? Urban Adventure Quest has created an interactive scavenger hunt that combines the fun of the Amazing Race with a three-hour sightseeing tour of Portland. Guided from any smart phone, groups make their way among well-known and overlooked gems of the city, solving clues and completing challenges while learning local history. The adventure begins in the heart of downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square and takes you on a journey to see the best sights of the city. From the Arts district to Powell's bookstore and Voodoo Doughnuts...as well as amazing stops in between, you will enjoy all that Portland has to offer. The tour requires approximately 2.4 miles of walking and you will also experience the city's famous street cars. Tucked away in Southeast Portland near the Sellwood Bridge is Oaks Amusement Park, one of the oldest continuously operated amusement parks in the United States. A modest operation, the park currently includes about two dozen rides that operate seasonally, a skating rink that is open year-'round, and picnic grounds. The Oaks has been a part of the lives of many Portlanders and other Oregonians for nearly a hundred years, and many people hold fond memories of it.
OPS Fest performs all 25 plays in its repertory over the summer at 11 different Portland parks. https://Facebook.com/opsfest The OPS Fest company of skilled, flexible actors will perform with occasional interruptions of songs, dances, and sketches throughout. Shows begin at 7pm and the audience is welcome to arrive during the hour before to watch the pregame dance & fight rehearsals. Children, picnics, and leashed pups are always welcome! About the 2022 Season: OPS Fest is proud to bring admission-free Shakespeare to the Portland Public Parks for their 14th season! Richard II and Antony and Cleopatra are the new plays on the roster. The season ends on the last weekend in August with the Gentlethem's Show (nonbinary & trans actors!) of Romeo and Juliet, the extremely popular Gentlewomen's Show (sisters are doing it for themselves!) of A Midsommer Night's Dreame, and the Gentlemen's Show (all fellas!) of Richard III. About Original Practice Shakespeare Festival: OPS Fest brings no-cost Shakespeare to parks all over the Portland Metro area.
